An easy-to-use, versatile starter culture, this thermoophilic starter culture can be used to make a variety of amazing hard cheeses such as parmesan, romano, provolone, swiss and even more! Comes with 8 direct-set starter cultures for making your own fresh cheese. The direct-set cultures are one-time-use only and cannot be recultured. These easy to use cultures require no maintenance or care, simply store in your freezer until ready to use.
Use as directed by your recipe or try the following: 1 packet of fresh cheese starter per gallon of milk, 2 packets per 2-4 gallons, or 4 packets per 5-10 gallons. Avoid using ultra-pasteurized or UHT milk. Heat milk and culture according to temperatures outlined in your recipe.
