A good start for pre-prohibition lager
The kit arrived exactly as advertised. It was crushed to give good conversion and extraction of malt sugars, and lautered pretty well, for a mash with adjuncts. It allowed chance to hit all numbers, and would have made good beer, had an unforeseen disaster involving spontaneous rupture of a fermenter while actively fermenting occurred. This was not in any way the fault of the kit, only of the age of the plastic fermenter. This kit worked fine (even if all the wort is lost...)

Best Brew Yet!
I am not completely convinced that this beer tastes exactly as a Shiner Blonde but it's pretty darn close! (I have been out of the state of Texas for 8 months now and have not had a blonde since I left). Regardless, it is easily my best brew. The taste is amazing, and it is so easy to drink. I gave my friend who brews a 6 pack and he told me he wants an endless supply of it! Everyone who I let try it also told me they would buy this beer at the store. I made the LEX kit. I did a primary fermentation at the recommended Lager temperatures and then a secondary. The longer I allow it to age in the bottles, the better it tastes! Highly recommended!
