Mr
This is a mild brew with no bitterness and only moderate hop flavor. This brew takes time to mature so don't Rush the brew. I gave it 2weeks in primary 2 weeks in secondary and month in keg. Buy this brew and you won't be disappointed.

I tried this ale and it was spot on to how Samuel Adams Boston Ale used to taste when they started out.... For some reason Samuel Adams has cut back on their hop profile and it's not as good as it used to be. If you want to know how good Samuel Adams Boston Ale used to taste, this is the kit for you.

I did the mini-mash version of this and it is incredible. I was honestly shocked at how good this beer turned out. I'm a big Samuel Adams Boston Ale fan and really like this MUCH better. I actually let this beer sit in the primary for 3 weeks bypassing secondary. At two weeks in the bottle it was already very good, three weeks it was so good and easy to drink I know it will not be around for long. This is definitely one that I will brew again. Highly recommended.

Patience makes a world of difference with this one. It needs at least 6 weeks in the bottle, but still delicious after 6 months. Tastes like Boston Ale of 5 years ago.

I had it as a partial mash. After two weeks in carboy (no secondary) the beer had a strong yeasty smell and a dull taste. Bottled and waited for two more weeks, then tried again. The yeasty smell was gone, and the taste somewhat improved, but still it was quite mediocre. However, after two more weeks, which makes a month in the bottles, it became real good, and kept improving for the total of six weeks. Will save a few bottles and try them several months later :-) I could not find this beer in Austin stores, so cannot compare, but overall this clone is nothing great, just OK.

100% it is better than what you buy in the store. It has a nice ending, whereas the store bought seems hollow.

Not touching the AHS Irish Red because I am drinking this! Just set up the kegerator (sp?) with 2 taps, this one works for me. Aging is not as much as I would of wanted, but who cares. Tastes great--oh yeah got me druck too. Need to buy more kits?

Agree with many comments below good neutral brew for someone not wanting a lite beer but doesn't want anything too heavy, which is what I am usually looking for. Also agree has little more hops that the SA Boston Ale I have drank and needs some time to age. In blind taste test of about 5 people all preferred my home brew to the SA. Mine was a bit lighter in color than the SA. Used liquid extract kit with Wyeast American Ale II will probably brew again.

Today I mowed the lawn. Then I had my 1st AHS SA Boston Ale. Now that's a good lawnmower beer.
