Have made this several times and it's always great. I haven't done a 'side by side' test with the real thing but it is a great beer to have on tap. Flavor is good, as in it has flavor and a clean, crisp taste. Perfect summer beer that all my friends enjoy. It's not heavy or over hopped so it's easy to have several. All I can say is it goes fast with my friends.

This is a mild brew with no bitterness and only moderate hop flavor. This brew takes time to mature so don't Rush the brew. I gave it 2weeks in primary 2 weeks in secondary and month in keg. Buy this brew and you won't be disappointed.

I tried this ale and it was spot on to how Samuel Adams Boston Ale used to taste when they started out.... For some reason Samuel Adams has cut back on their hop profile and it's not as good as it used to be. If you want to know how good Samuel Adams Boston Ale used to taste, this is the kit for you.

I had it as a partial mash. After two weeks in carboy (no secondary) the beer had a strong yeasty smell and a dull taste. Bottled and waited for two more weeks, then tried again. The yeasty smell was gone, and the taste somewhat improved, but still it was quite mediocre. However, after two more weeks, which makes a month in the bottles, it became real good, and kept improving for the total of six weeks. Will save a few bottles and try them several months later :-) I could not find this beer in Austin stores, so cannot compare, but overall this clone is nothing great, just OK.

Patience makes a world of difference with this one. It needs at least 6 weeks in the bottle, but still delicious after 6 months. Tastes like Boston Ale of 5 years ago.
