Robobrew V3 Brewing System with Pump - 9.25 Gallon

An all-in-one brewing system that makes it easy to jump into all grain brewing!

The Robobrew All Grain Brewing System is an easy to use, electrical brewing system that will have you leaving all those sticky extract batches in the dust. This extremely portable plug and brew system features a 9.25 gallon capacity and dual heating element powered from a single 110 volt plug that have separate switches allowing more control over the heating process. The 1000 watt and 500 watt elements combine for a massive 1500 watts of power. Use one element to maintain temperature, or flip on both elements to ramp up the heat for mashing or boiling. The Robobrew also includes a built in magnetic drive pump to recirculate your wort during the mash to achieve maximum efficiency. It is recommended to use silicone tubing with the recirculation arm, giving you more control and also serves as a convenient tubing for transferring your brew into the fermenter with the pump as well. Set and monitor your temperatures with the on-board water resistant control panel. Use its convenient delayed start feature (up to 23 hours in advance) to heat your brewing water up so its ready to use in the morning or after you get home from work. The stainless steel malt pipe is easily removable and makes switching from a mash tun to a boil kettle a breeze. Malt Pipe includes a handle for easy lifting and bottom tabs to keep the pipe stable over the Robobrew to properly drain the wort. The included immersion chiller will help cool your batch off after boiling to pitch temperature. The Robobrew features etched gallon marking on the interior and 1/2" stainless steel ball valve for easy transferring.

I think I love it
First off, Austin Homebrew was great to deal with. My robobrew was missing a silicone gasket and Austin had the distributor shipped me one in a few days. After some reading, I found out that newer models are not being shipped with the silicone ring because it's really not needed. First brew was a disaster mainly because there's a learning curve and I went with beersmith and added too much strike water resulting in an overflow of grain into my wort, which ultimately clogged the pump. Since I already had a 3 vessel system, I just used my own pump and heated up my strike and sparge water separately cutting down some time. There are 2 main disadvantages of this system. 1. It took me 1 1/2 hrs to get from mash to boil for 7.5 gallons. 2. Brews with 14+lbs of grain will be very difficult because it holds 8 gallons of liquid max. I've since purchased an external heat stick to help cut down the heating time so that should solve #1. Using 2qt/lb may work with larger beers. Overall, I like the system and it does work as intended. The small footprint and user interface is nice. It does keep the mash at the target temp very well with little fluctuation. I've only used manual so no comment of the auto/step functions. I have no regrets with the system and it is fun to use with much less physical demands than a 3 vessel system. I'd recommend buying another pump to use for whirlpooling and an external heat stick to make your day go quicker. Note, when the boil starts, do not use the internal pump for whirlpooling, etc. Hops and debris will eventually clog it up and then you'll have to remove the bottom panel to access and clean it.
