Update from previous review. This brew took a few weeks to age, but after a couple of months in the bottle - turned out great. Wife says my best beer yet. Friends enjoy as well.

I brewed this for my wife as it's one of her favorites. The AHS version is very close the original, and in my opinion tasted better in a side by side tasting... regardless if you like blonde ales, and or Real Ale Firemans #4 you owe it to yourself to brew this kit. I brewed the extract version, with dry yeast, yeast fuel, and the 1% boost, and added Irish moss for clarification. This beer will be on tap as a standard at our house throughout the year. Good job and Cheers to the AHS crew!

i made this to get a friend of mine into brewing, seeing as how his favorite beer is Firemans 4. Turned out, in my opinion to be better than firemans 4. It ended up smoother, but i would reccomend letting it condition in the bottles for about an extra week.

Hoppy and holds carbonation well. Not sure what the real one tastes like, but there are better blondes to try.

I brewed a mini-mash version of this just to see what it was like. I have not seen this Real Ale beer in any of the local Austin stores to compare it against. It had a nice light golden color and tasted great. This will make a good summertime beer, very drinkable.

An excellent brew! 2 weeks in primary, 2 in secondary, and was very drinkable after 3 in the bottle. Fantastic after 5. Much hoppier than the real Fireman's 4, but I like the homebrew version better. The hops seem to mellow with age.

This was the first recipe that I brewed with the kit that my girlfriend bought for me last Christmas. It was amazing. I was nervous throughout the entire process but this recipe is responsible for not only my continuing to learn and brew, but also 4 close friends that have since purchased kits and bagan brewing themselves. Several people have told me that it is one of the best beers that they have had in their life. We keep a private reserve of this brew in our basement. Well done AHS.
