REALLY disappointed in this one... just did a side by side comparison... color is good... head is good... taste does not compare to original... it made me question whether or not I had actually put the apricot flavoring in the batch... I hit all of my gravities... it sat in the on deck keg for about 3 weeks after conditioning in secondary... not sure what went wrong but suffice to say for me this is not even close!

If you like Magic Hat you will love this beer. It is very close, however I was unable to do a side-by-side comparison. I did the all grain and put in the apricot flavoring when I transferred it to the keg (as per the instructions). I added about 2/3 of the apricot because of previous reviews stating the flavor was too strong with all of it. This turned out to be the perfect amount. Will be adding this one to the rotation.

MH #9 was the beer I drank in college after I graduated from Bud Light. So I brewed it as tribute. I did the partial mash and added 3 oz. of hops (recipe calls for 1.75 oz). 2 weeks in primary, 1 week in secondary, and 4 weeks in bottles. I am very pleased with the way it turned out. It is perfect summer beer. I will brew it again next year.

This is a very close clone. This will go into the rotation. Another great brew from the guys from Austin!

I havent tried this clone yet but I am ordering it right after I post this. I noticed some people saying that it didnt taste like real Magic Hat #9. Just a little heads up about Magic Hat. They change there recipes a lot and the Magic Hat you rember back in the day might be very different than the one today. The Clone Recipe on here might be closer to one of their older batches so it is not a very good beer to compare side by side....Just my 2 cents....Enjoy!! I will post again once my kit arrives and I brew!!!
