Excellent brew. Very close to the original. Maybe needs a hoppier flavor. Overall a crowd pleaser.

Well this one was interesting - the unexpected process - not the beer :). I brewed this a day before leaving for vacation for a week. Being August, I placed the primary in the basement, different from what I normally do because I knew the 1st floor was going to be too hot without AC on in Aug. My wife had the cleaning lady the day we left. She did not see the fermenter bucket and inadvertently threw a comforter over it, knocking the airlock off! When I cam back a week later, I thought the beer was ruined. But I continued the process in the secondary. I saw pretty heavy fermenting activity all they way up to bottling day. I was convinced another strain of yeast entered the brew. I bottled, and just tried the beer after only 2 weeks. It came our great! Smooth, not hoppy (just how I like it). Had some friends taste it and they loved it. I'm sure it's only going to get better with age. I lucked out with this one!

First kit brewed from AHS, fourth overall. Directions were complete and very informative, although different methods from other vendors. Results were fantastic, I never tried the recipe this was cloned from so I can not compare. As for amber ales, taste was smooth, not to hoppy and had a hint of caramel sweetness. Friends and family really enjoyed. Recommend for any brewer looking for an amber ale.

I've now brewed this kit more than twice, and it continues to be one of my "go-to" kits. Always comes out right and is always a hit for anyone who loves their Amber Ales. Side by side, every time we've tried a taste-test, we always end up getting them mixed up and unable to tell the difference. I really appreciate the AHS recipe directions over the other brew suppliers. Theirs are so clear and uncomplicated. Original SG-1.058...., Final SG 1.-16. 5.5% ABV. Great Color, and a great drinking brew, any time of the year.

Excellent brew! Will definitely do again. Closest I have found to my favorite commercial beer - Highland Brewery's Gaelic Ale. Full Sail gets better with age, but was very good after the typical conditioning process. Try the extract version, you will enjoy as I have.
