Fermenator (42 gal) Tri-Clamp Fittings
This Fermenator is 100% stainless steel.
Everything that touches your beer is heavy gauge stainless steel. The interior is weld-free. There is no need to worry about bacteria hiding in weld cracks or in porosity found in all welds, even so-called sanitary welds.
- Dumping cold break and trub takes only a couple minutes.
- Collecting wort samples is quick and completely sanitary.
- Allows for easy harvesting of yeast.
- Pressurizeable for CO2 pumping.
- Impervious to UV light that causes "skunking" in beer.
- Large open top makes scouring and sanitizing the interior easy and painless.
- The rotating racking arm allows for siphoning completely sediment free beer.
By popular request Blichmann developed tri-clamp
(sanitary) fittings for their full line of Fermenator conicals. This new design maintains all the operational features of their standard fittings, and adds a sleek professional look. This completely weldless design includes a 1" bottom dump assembly complete with elbow, ball valve, barb fitting, cover plate, and all clamps and gaskets. The racking arm is a 1/2" tri-clamp design, and also includes the barb fitting, cover, and all clamps and gaskets.
Unfortunately, a Fermenator already sold cannot be retrofitted with the tri-clamp bottom dump and racking fittings since different size holes in the tank are required for the tri-clamp bulkhead fittings.
Optional bolt-on leg extensions are available to elevate the Fermenator to make draining directly into a Cornelius keg easier. With the leg extensions, the bottom dump valve will be 23" (58cm) above the floor. See options below to add.
Another Fermenator option are the heavy duty industrial grade casters, making moving it much easier.
Wine-makers! Forms a 100% pressure and vacuum tight seal so no need for a floating lid! The sealing system is far superior to wine tanks and is completely impervious to oxygen. Most stainless wine fermenting tanks have a loose fitting lid for primary fermentation (to vent gas) and a floating lid for secondary fermentation (to prevent oxygen infiltration). This floating lid has an inflatable seal "tire" with a “bicycle pump” and must be checked periodically to be sure it hasn't deflated. It is also a source for bacterial contamination from the fermentation material on the walls of the fermentor. The blanket of CO2 on the surface of the wine from fermentation will protect the wine from oxidation. After complete fermentation has been verified remove the airlock and stopper and replace with a stopper with no hole
