I agree with the first comment. This tastes like the way Fat Tire did 7 years ago, before they started to really mass produce. Excellent amber ale. I gave as 6 pack gifts at work here in New England, I did not recieve a single bad comment. Worth buying.

An instant classic. Completely consumed my first batch at a small family gathering to universal praise. A few guests had the original and confirmed it is very close.

Brewed this March 2nd. 1 week in primary, 2 weeks in secondary (dry-hopped w/amarillo) and after only 1 week in bottles....WOW!!! Best beer I have ever brewed. Most of the members of my homebrewers group think it should be entered in a contest. Definitely buying this one again. I used 2 packs of Nottingham and just pitched them dry into primary. Highly recommend (try dry-hopping it, too).

It's hard to argue with this one: Well-balanced, easy drinking. Will be doing this one again.

This beer was worthy of the hype! Good balance of malt and hop flavors and worked well turning friends on to "real beer."

I have been brewing for going on three years, so no big deal. I was given a Fat Tire a few years ago before I started brewing and loved the beer! Just recently in a local pub here in PA. They have Fat Tire in the bottle. My wife fell in love with the beer, and when I was looking on this site and saw it. She told me to get it. Well everyone that I have given the beer to has drank more then one. Fantastic clone as are all of the clone kits that I have bought from Austin's.

This was my first attempt at making beer. I'm no beer connoisseur but I know what I like. I liked what I made. Thought it might just be my pride of authorship. I tried it on my beer-loving brother-in-law who has German heritage. He took a big quaff and a smile broke out below his Fat Tire mustache. So I'm back to order another batch.

I have been pleasantly surprised with this beer. I do not like Fat Tire today and I do not know what it was like 7 years ago. This beer is a nice dark amber color, is very smooth only one week now in the keg, is very drinkable. Has a nice balance between maltiness and hoppiness, with neither of those coming to the forefront. This is a very good beer, now I understand why so many others have spoke favorably of it.
