This creamy treat makes a great addition to any kitchen and is versatile enough to be a replacement for yogurt, sour cream or even mayonnaise in most recipes. Comes with 4 direct-set starter cultures for making your own creme fraiche. The direct-set cultures are one-time-use only and cannot be recultured. These easy to use cultures require no maintenance or care and culture at room temperature (72-77 F), simply store in your freezer ubntil ready to use. Direct-set cultures contain both starter culture and rennet.
Use 1 packet of creme fraiche starter with 1 quart of cream or half-and-half. This culture can be used with heavy cream, half-and-half, or raw cream. Avoid using ultra-pasteurized or UHT milk.
