Great IPA Beer
Did the extract version with salafe 05 as yeast., followed the directions as given with the kit. This is a nice, easy drinking IPA, Has a little bitterness and dryness to it but not overly hoppy at all.

This beer turned out fantastic, just perfect! I love all of Bell's beers, but Two Hearted and Obreon are my favorites. This is so close to the real thing it is hard to tell the difference. This could be a contest winner.....great smell, color, of course flavor, but also forms a perfect head. This will be brewed again!

OK - I don\'t always post good reviews about the clones but this one is excellent. There was that hop crisis so AHS switched out Centennial for Amarillo. OK I thought, it\'s a good sub. Well this turned out fantastic. it is a dead on clone of Two Hearted Ale EXCEPT for the hops. Use Centennial and you are there. I can not see how they expect to get Wyeast American Ale 1056 down to a FG of 1.008 so mine is a tiny bit sweeter I suppose. STILL - after 19 batches this will become my FIRST house beer.

My forth batch, and first batch that I couldn't stop drinking. It is a really close clone of Two Hearted Ale. Maybe needs a little more dry hopping. With a OG of 1.060 I made a yeast starter and got my FG down to 1.004. If you like Two Hearted or Centennial Hops, this is a must brew.

My wife and I just did a side by side side taste test and it was spot on. She could not tell the difference with the real thing. Can not wait to brew it again, it will definatly become my house brew.

I did the partial mash kit with WLP051 yeast. Very good, although not as hoppy as expected (or as hoppy as Two Hearted). I don't know what AHS assumes your efficiency to be on the mash, but mine was about 85% and I was at 1.065 on the OG (versus 1.06 expected). Fermented down to 1.014. That might be one reason for the presumed reduced hoppiness. Either way, it could DEFINITELY use more dry hopping - it only calls for 1/3 ounce.

As a new brewer of only six months, I can honestly say that this is my best brew so far. Living out on the east coast, we are not able to get Bell's. This recipe is really close to the original, perhaps even better in some ways. I just started a batch of the Fairy Tale Ale, which is supposed to be like Oberon, my favorite of the Bell's brand. You cannot go wrong with this recipe kit!

Great recipe. Used US-05 and it's as close as it could possibly be without using bells yeast strain (which you can harvest from Two Hearted Ale bottles). Dry hopped in the keg and the aroma is fantastic!

This is a deliciously refreshing Bell's clone that takes me home to MI. First batch was Extract per recipe with additional Centennial leaf dry hopping. Second batch is in secondary now. Added an additional 1/2 oz. centennial pellets for aroma and dry hopped with a full oz. of centennial pellets vs. the 1/3 oz. called out in the recipe. Pretty excited.... Great brew.
