I was way surprised how good this was. I wanted to make a batch to just to put me out of my February misery. This was a very tasty batch. I will definitely make it again.

A really good kit. This was one of the first extract kits I ever made, and luckily I was able to save a few bottles and it won me 2nd place in a local competition in the Old Ale category. Tastes great, but especially after some decent aging.

Incredible beer. Brewed at the end of August - two weeks in 1Àö, four weeks in 2Àö. Didn't crack the first one 'til Christmas. I started with a bit higher OG than planned and added the alcohol boost to bring me up around 7.9% - 8.1% ABV. It has only improved since Christmas. Very complex flavor: malty and vinous up front with a well balanced sweetness on the finish. The mouthfeel is full and smooth. I hit the carbonation just right, yielding a creamy off-white head. If I hadn't made it myself, I would've wondered if it were nitrogenated. One of the best beers I've ever tasted.

Brewed this with half a pound of pecan meal with the grains, then another half pound in secondary for 2 weeks. Added bourbon soaked oak chips for a week. Tastes great, like pecan pie. Only getting better in the keg as it ages. Great kit.
