Complex & Delicious
I brewed the LMM version for a company Christmas party. About 17 days in primary then kegged and forced carbed. My friends and I are all hop heads, but we all preferred this over a Pliny the Elder clone I brewed around the same time. It's very well bodied, the spices aren't over the top, and it offers a very complex flavoring. This will definitely be brewed again next year.

good Xmas beer
This was my first all grain recipe and I doubt that I'll be going back to extracts. Did my mash and boil the last week in October, 1 week in primary, 2 in secondary, then bottled. Tried after 3 weeks in bottle and the spices came through a little more than I liked but by the time Xmas rolled around this beer was awesome. Great, easy to drink holiday recipe. Thanks AHS!!

Yummy spiced ale
Made the DME version. After 3.5 weeks in bottle properly carbed. Just split two bottles with my son now for Christmas dinner. Very subtle spice flavor. Yummy ale flavor. Dark red color. Will do this one again next year.

Tasty. A bit too bitter for me, but this could mellow with time. Nice spice combination which lends that typical Winter Warmer type of flavor.

Not a bad beer, took awhile to condition and carbonate but it was probably my fault. Has aged well and tastes better now (2 months). Spiciness is there but not over the top. Friends seem to like it as well.

Tried this beer for the first time this year, just finished bottling so it'll be well aged by the holidays and I certainly noticed a few things. First, I've made a habit from the first few kits I've used to siphon from the brewpot to the primary, however this time, as I was kinda pressed for time, I just poured into the primary splashing as much as possible. The spices used include whole cloves, leaving the brew process and the resulting mix very clove smelling tasting. Upon transfering to the secondary there were still whole cloves throughout the mix, once again leaving a very strong clove smell, I didn't taste however. After bottling, I tasted the remaining beer in the bottling bucket, expecting a strong clove flavor but was pleasantly surprised at how smooth and balanced all the flavors were. The spices were pleasant, not overpowering and the beer was incredibly smooth. I think they certainly hit the nail on the head with this one, and can't wait to enjoy it in December with my family.

Very nice holiday beer, basically a nice amber ale with some tasty holiday spices giving a "gingerbread" type flavor. Mine peaked at around 3 months, so brew this one in October to have it ready for Xmas. After a few months, the spices tend to fade a bit, but still taste good. This was well-liked by everyone -- will definitely make it again this Christmas. Highly recommend this recipe.

I conditioned for a week in keg and it tastes great! I think I'll let it condition for a while longer and should be perfect for Thanksgiving. I will definitely brew again.

Tastes like Christmas, for sure. After four weeks in primary, this tasted great, even at bottling time. After four weeks in the bottle, it's perfect. The spices have mellowed a little, the tartness from the yeast comes out a little, and it's smooth and drinkable. Great winter beer that won't put you under the table like some stronger winter warmers.

Added 50% more spice than indicated in the recipe and allowed to bottle-condition for 6 weeks. The result was really delicious, smooth, and with some but not too much spice. Many friends commented that it tasted like "Christmas in a bottle."
