AHS Limited Edition White Christmas White Stout - EXTRACT

The White Christmas White Stout has returned! This recipe uses freshly roasted Costa Rican Black Honey coffee from Tiny House Roasters.

The White Christmas White Stout breaks the trend of traditional stouts, emerging from the hybrid styles to become something truly unique. Made with flaked oats and specially roasted whole coffee beans, this recipe imparts the same roasted quality and creamy mouth feel of a standard stout with the look of a light amber ale.

Specialty malts: flaked oats, flaked barley, Crystal 40L
Featured hops: Glacier
Special Ingredients: Costa Rican Black Honey Coffee by TinyHouse Coffee

O.G. = 1.059

This is the first extract beer kit I've ordered from Austin Homebrew Supply since receiving my brewing starter kit from my daughter and son in law five years ago. This kit is very impressive! it has the largest amount of grains to steep that I've ever seen, and I've probably made at least 25 kits in 5 years. All ingredients were packaged very well. And after the kit arrived, I received a second package that contained the coffee beans. I didn't even realize the beans were missing! AHS took it upon themselves and sent me the coffee beans without me contacting them. Now that is quality customer service! I have since brewed this kit, it smells delicious and is in the primary fermenter now. Getting ready to rack it to the secondary this week. So, I haven't tried it yet, but am looking forward to tasting it soon, I figure about another month or so. My only suggestion would be to offer the kit earlier in the holiday season, since the name implies Christmas, it would be nice to enjoy this brew for the holidays, not after. LOL But, I am sure the brew will be well worth the wait! I will update this post once the brew is ready to drink. Cheers AHS! I will be back for more kits. Very impressed with your kits and your service. Thank you!
