The Pumpkin Pie Cream Ale is is back! Our most popular limited edition recipe is a special Halloween treat just for you.
The Pumpkin Pie Cream Ale is exactly what you think it is! Unlike many of the other spiced pumpkin beers, this beer features a luscious dose of lactose which renders a super creamy (decadent) mouth-feel and enough pumpkin perfection to bring your mind back to those memorable Thanksgiving dinners of yore, whilst forgetting the horrors of so many hungry family and friends fighting over the last morsel.

Specialty malts: Crystal 10L, Carapils®
Featured hops: Saaz
Other additives: lactose sugar, pumpkin spice pack, vanilla extract powder

WARNING TO LACTOSE INTOLERANT: THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS LACTOSE.

The optional pumpkin is not provided with the recipe. It must be purchased separately.

Pumpkin preparation: cut enough small pumpkins into 1 inch cubes to yield 3 - 4 lb. Place the pumpkin on a cooking pan and cook in the oven at 350 F for 30 min or until softened. If pumpkin in unavailable, 3 - 4 lb of canned pumpkin (non-spiced) may be used instead. The pumpkin is added with the grains during mashing.

Quite Tasty

This was an awesome beer! Directions were easy to follow and I thought it turned out fantastic. Exactly what I expected. The amount of pumpkin to be added differs from online to the written instruction, but thatís the art of beer making!

Not what I expected

I have been brewing pumpkin beers every year for my fall main beer. Every year I try to do a different style of beer for it. So I decided to brew this one. Description of beer was great just what I wanted. Instructions were great. Process was easy. Followed instructions to the letter. Did not alter ingredients at all. Even let sit for minimum of 4 weeks after bottling. Really hard to let it sit anticipation on this one was growing every week. As it smelled good and tasted great before bottling. Opened the first on the other day. Smell was ok, carbonation was good, color was as expected beautiful orangey brown. Took my first sip and just about threw out the whole bottle. Turned out bitter, no taste of pumpkin, kind of tasted like a bitter sour beer. Will let sit for a couple of more weeks and see if this might improve. As a mead maker I know things do improve with time. Not so sure this one will.
