This is my favorite. I've brewed this 8 times. Richer than Killians and sharper, not heavier. Very little to no bitter aftertaste.

This beer received a high ranking for a reason! A very well balanced beer and one I will brew again very soon.

I brewed this as my first beer and after appropriate aging (mine was over 2 months) in the bottle, it tastes wonderful! I would say it even better than any commercial red ales I have tried before.

I have been brewing for several years now, and this one is definately one of the favorites. You need to age this one for 8weeks or more in order to allow it to meld together. Much better than the store bought versions.

I have been brewing for over 15 years and I couldn't believe how well this beer turned out. I would have to say this is the best beer, or one of the top 3 beers I've ever brewed. I used the original wort to carbonate instead of the corn sugar and that really added an extra malty flavor. Don't skimp on the yeast either, go with the recommended yeast. I'm going to reorder, it was that good.

Brewed the all grain version following AHS directions. I tried my first bottle after 3 weeks conditioning, and it tastes great. It's already pretty smooth & tasty....judging from comments it will just get better with time....yum.

I just won a gold medal with this all grain recipe kit at Cincinnati's Octobersbest beer competition! The color and clarity of this beer was phenomenal. This beer finished very dry and crisp and had great mouthfeel. I am ordering another kit today and would recommend it for any level brewer.

I made this about 6x. Last two sucked. I let the temp go up to high at the very end of fermentation (Wyeast): drank some and dumped 4 gallons. Replaced the dumped with the new crap that my wife says tastes like mouthwash. My friend and his wife like it (w.labs this time). I watched the temp. this time and kept a wet towel on it to keep it cool. When I made it well, it was in the cold basement. Great beer, but stay away from the Esters that high temps bring you according the yeast profiles. Session Brown was said to taste as good as this:)

Brewed as instructed with the extract option. Dry, biscuity, and malty, with a low caramel sweetness for the style. Hop bitterness is present. Low hop flavor/aroma. Full flavored. Mine did not need excessive bottle conditioning. Though my gravity readings were fine at bottling, every beer was significantly over-carbonated within 2 weeks. This is as likely to be somehow my fault as anything else, so I'm not complaining. Good beer, but didn't really end up being my style.
