Creamy Smoked Amber
Absolutely my favorite. The peated malt gives it a smooth flavor close to scotch.

Aggieland Brewing
Absolutely outstanding. A very solid base for a British style amber with a Northwestern US kiss of Alderwood smoke. Adding the maltodextrin with dry malt extract resulted in a very rapid build up of foam, making the process of returning to a boil a challenge. Had to use a spoon to constantly strike down the foam. (Also added 1 lb Belgian Candi Dark beet sugar) And it was worth the brief battle. Enhanced the hop schedule to; (2) oz Kent Golding (UK) @ 59m, (2) oz (UK) Challenger at 30 mins, (1) oz. Glacier with Whirlfloc and yeast fuel @ 15 before burnout and finally (1) oz St. Celia (Golding) hops of Slovenia. The rare type provided with the kit was even more regional. Cool. The brew is incredible. Has a saddle leather and old skool UK start with a milky body, followed by spice and hops. Perfect body. Twas my 7th brew and one that will never be forgotten. This one is really good. Used liquid White Labs London Ale Yeast WLP013 and Danstar dry Windsor Ale yeast. Fermentation ended in 12 days. 7.7% ABV

Smoked flavor more than I expected. Good beer with BBQ. Very consistent taste, bottle to bottle. Taste same even 10 weeks later.

Recently brewed the partial mash version of this recipe. I have enjoyed it. I served some at a party recently and it was a big hit.

Had never tried a smoked before, but this tasted wonderful, had a nice brownish color, and was a simple recipe. Served to others at a gathering and got very good reviews. Plan to make this again.

Extract, kegged. Delightful and not overpowering smokey front end with good body and an appropriately balanced hopping at the end. Very balanced. Takes a few swigs to get used to the peaty smoke flavors but after savoring nearly the entire 5 gallons myself over a month, this one goes on the will brew again list.

This is a fantastic beer. One week primary, 10 days secondary, and 3 weeks in the bottle. A very nice blend of hops and malt and just the perfect amount of smoke. Pours a nice mid to dark amber color with a very creamy head. Even non beer drinkers have really enjoyed this beer. I'm drinking my last one as I type but will certainly brew this again soon.

Extract brewed & bottled. We made this to serve at our wedding reception (labeled it Happily Ever Amber). Was a big hit. Great flavor, not too smoky. Had a pleasing taste that people who had never had homebrew enjoyed. This is on our "to brew again" list.

This was an awesome brew. The hop bite hits you first, followed by smoke, and rounded out with the cream. It was perfect backyard brew for frying our turkey at Thanksgiving.
