This is an outstanding recipe. I used the mini mash kit with the recommended White Labs yeast and everyone loves this beer. I've brewed this one twice. Once as an extract and again as a mini-mash. The extract was great but the mini-mash was way better. After being in the bottle for about 3 months it got even better. I'm not sure how long you can leave a homebrew in the bottle before it spoils, I tend to drink it all before a few months have past, but I can only imagine how much better it gets.
The best part is that it tends to be less about the bass and more about the flavors mixing together the longer it sits. I have gotten high praise from those I have shared this brew with after 4 weeks and worship after 3 months. This was my first recipe and it turned out great! Everyone tried it really liked the beer very much. Matter of fact, I went out on a couple different occasions and had a bass on tap. My home brew version was just as good if not better in some cases. At first I was a little disappointed with this one; the aftertaste was pure Bass through and through, but the initial flavor was just plain bland. I did find that the taste improved significantly after about 6 weeks in the bottle. My recommendation is to allow it to age that extra time for best flavor. | Comment by Bruce J
This was a really great recipe. I'm a Bass lover and this hit the spot with me and my consuming friends. It was everything it should be. Perfect head, perfect color, the right taste. I was able to save a few for the Holidays. Can't wait.
