Looking for a Liquid or Dry Yeast Substitution? The brewers at Austin Homebrew Supply have tried most of them. The following are some suggestions that have worked for us.
Liquid Yeast Substitution : Wyeast 1968, Omega British Ale VII
Dry Yeast Substitution : Nottingham, M36 Liberty Bell

Want to make a Yeast Starter? Home brewers are always led to believe making a yeast starter is for the advanced brewer. This could not be further from the truth. If anything beginning brewers should start with yeast starters. When you think about it they are nothing more than a small extract brew. Show Me How To Make A Yeast Starter

Purchased this yeast 19 days ago. Then there is shipping. Brewed immediately, but look at the timeline. My batch is still in fermentation. Stop the spam.

Great product, poor shipping

I have had nothing bad to say about white labs liquid yeast. They are reliably consistent in their products. The shipping of the yeast however by Austin Homebrew is where my issues lie. Do not ever order yeast in the hot months. I even payed extra for expedited shipping and was still met with the same result. They give you an option to buy an ice pack but this is menial at best. There is no insulation in the box or even at least the yeast whatsoever and it is just package in plastic next to the ice pack. I would gladly pay a little more for shipping of the yeast if they shipped it insulated with ice to keep it cool (food companies already do this). I have on 3 separate occasions received very low live yeast from the liquid. I prefer liquid yeast but definitely will be forced to order dry yeast until the weather gets reliably cooler.
